A55 -> A77

Lens definitely will cost more than body. Just take a look on CZ lens.

ok jokes aside yea. the A55's body is too small.

but the focus peaking is really good. really a boon for Manual Focusing on the newer SLT bodies like the A77 and A65

Thanks guys ! Really helpful advices so far ;)

I do own cz lens. I like the A55 for being so lightweight and travel friendly. But i am tempted to move to 77 for more powerful features like more AF points, better IQ, better EVF etc.

Found this interesting comparison page ;)

why compare A77 with A55? sensor alone is a worlds apart. A55 is meant for entry level DSLT whilst A77 is semi-pro. in order words what ever A55 could do A77 could also do better and more:-)

There is really no comparison between A77 and A55 ! ...what you should be comparing is between A77 and A57 !!!

...and asking which is more important to you, High resolution or High ISO?

add to the mix A65 also bro and maybe Nex7 although different form (mirrorless) but I heard great things about it in terms of IQ.

My only concern is weight. But i am almost very tempted to make the move for 77 now
Now, who's letting go their 77? :D

if you're using A55 you'll hardly notice the additional grams if you get the VG the it's another story :-) only issue coming from A33/A55 is the size difference specially plus VG it's big

Is there any previous users of Nikon d7000?

from reviews I can only tell the noise of d7000 is better compared to a77 at higher iso.
Wonder if firmware can improve iso performance for a77?

yes. the D7000 is better. but is it necessary to jump just because of that?

Different sensor entirely. From reviews I can also see the A57 has better high ISO noise than the D7000. So, gonna jump back to sony then?

A57 is looking good in terms of it's noise performance. I personally feel it is slightly better than A77 and A65 in terms of noise performed. If only it had a better built quality!

It is much better than the A65 and A77 - because it uses a different sensor.

Oh really? Didn't knew.

I think for myself, i just get the best currently model out of the budget i have. So just weighing my options here and see what functions matters to me the most. I dont use flash, so ISO performance is rather high up in my consideration list. Sorry guys, really no brand loyalty here :D

Comparing 7d vs d7000 vs A77, all got their strengths and weaknesses. For 77, i particularly like the excellent high res lcd display over the other 2. Whether 8, 10 or 12 fps doesnt really matter so much to me. I like d7k for the better iso performance and 39 AF points.

I also love my Sony-CZ2470 pairing a lot. I'm worried switching over to nikon/canon similar 2470 offerings might suffer slight IQ drop. (At least that's what read over in other forums). I also love the inbuilt stablizer in Sony!

So... 16MP vs 24MP was not enough of a hint?

Normally the higher megapixel the more noise it will get. but u will get more detail in the picture for high MP camera.
