Fantastic Photogs ! :thumbsup: ...almost all got the 3d effect / looks :bigeyes:
ouch! so sorry to hear that bro....
if im not wrong the one thing that is broken in my sigma is the front focus ring (or whatever you call it) just after the front internal lens that protrudes out very long at 300mm..
that focusing ring that goes from 0.95m to 8m then to infinity.. well the a330's built in motor has a hard time jumping from the 4m to the 5m gap as if something is stuck inside. other than that, the lens is usable in manual focus mode.
the post process on the recent pics were done using;
1. convert the sony raw file to jpg using sony's image data converter with the following settings.
creative style=vivid
white balance=daylight +150k (to get a more golden color)
brightness = -.4ev (need this in the negative in order for me to play with the D-range)
contrast = (depending on the sharpness outcome i want is about +20-40)
D-range Optimizer settings (this is what i normally play around with)
manual: amount = (50 to 80) highlight = (40-60) shadow = (50-85)
Color distortion = advanced
Saturation = not higher than +15 depending on subject
convert to jpeg then open in CS5 the resulting image will be slightly noisy but will "look" sharp.
In CS5 once image is opened, i will look and see how CS5 will render it in auto color/tone which is often not to my desired output.
there are only 6 things i always use in cs5 and this are;
1. in image tab there are 3 which are exposure adjustment, vibrancy adjustment and shadow and highlight adjustments, once i get the desired effect will i continue to use the filter tab.
2. in the filter tab = USM on average this is my setting (amount 190 radius 2 to 4 threshold = 0 to 5 which is adjusted depending on the radius size. optionally i would do a 100% "fade unsharp mask" darken.
3. finally i would be to crop or do a vignette but i seldom do both in flower macro.
4. the last part of the post process is using noise ninja add-on in CS5 to remove the noise. at the most i use the default settings as i have only started using this add-on about 2 weeks ago.
i dont play much with curves and levels although i do play a lot with layers if i dont get what i want using the above technique. above pp is way different than what i would do for IR, landscapes or portrait.. post processing a macro shot is the simpliest as one dont need to crop or adjust horizon or even perspective..
