A1 Hang

I have an unusual incident to report...
Was shooting at family function today....after about 90 shots (using 512 Mb Hagiwara CF); the camera suddenly seized.
Cannot switch off or do anything - so eventually took out the battery and after a 5 minute break pop the thing back in and its back to normal.
Before that, my niece was reviewing some of the pictures and was attempting to take some shots off the TV.

Anyone encountered this kind of thing before?

Actually my A1 had hang on several occasions but usually the on/off switch gets it working again. No need to remove battery.

Could it be the CF? I have not encountered the hanging before but I understand when cameras hang, it some cases, its the CF that's the problem. Due to its read/write process. (Like computer lah !). I am using the Sandisk Ultra II 512mb.

I suspect its the CF too.
This is the second time it happened.
It could be that this brand isn't that great and read-write speed is also not very fast. It hung when we were doing write and read operations continuously... I think I will try using the 128 Mb CF instead and "whack" the cam and see whether it hangs or not.

I've encountered this before too on my A1. The red LED (CF access) on the camera remains lit, but the camera does not respond. Turning it off does not help. I have to remove the battery and pop it back in. But it seems harmless, as I have not lost any pictures due to this.

Maybe the new firmware will fix this. I'm using a Transcend 512MB x45 CF.

Just came back from a session torturing the A1.
Ok...Good news is it didn't hang. I think its the Hagiwara 512Mb CF, tried on another CF and it worked fine.
As for the Hagiwara 512Mb CF, I was recording reviewing and digital zooming (ie heavy read and write actvities) till the point where the read speed was very slow and it took some time scrolling (about 3-5 sec) thru the recorded images.
And when I switched the camera back to record and was ready to shoot, the camera slowed down.
At this point I switched off the camera and re-started it - it went back to normal.

I actually exchanged the hagiwara for a transcend as i was ecperienceing slow write and read speed duering the first two days of usage of the A1.

Went back to the shop and exchanged for a transcend and now its working flawlessly.....for 3 mths...ALREADY!!!???? Wowo time flies....

I encountered my while using a Ridata 1Gb 52x CF card. May not be the CF read write speed, but it occured only once and after that it was OK till now.
