A simple photo session feat. Bernice

Your lightning make her more pretty

Thanks guys. Seems the ones with the blue skies are favoured by most of you. Were impromptu shots and just came up my mind when I reached the location.

I think this is the best of Bernice I have seen on all the posting here, you really take the best out of her.:thumbsup:

Thank you. They should have better results since it's a 1 to 1 session.

As usual on your strobe lighting =) good effort

Haha..not sure what could I do without them.

Very nice! I like all your photos. These are works that newbies like me aspire to. :)

Thanks. Nothing really too difficult.

# 3 and 4

for #3, the white patch on her glasses. Were they caused by reflection or was there actually a piece of paper stuck onto her glasses?

That's reflection of my octabox placed from right. ;)

 #3 my pick. some noob comments, her face quite roundish, she appears to be flabby for direct front shots..

you did well.. nice colours..

I did adjust the saturation levels and curves but the sky was indeed beautiful on the day.:)

Seen many photoshot advertisement in CS which cost between $25 to >$100 depending on who / where is being shot. Had never join one of these yet. Have a few question in mind about these photoshot :

For in-door but not studio
1) what lenses are most suited for these eg 85 - 105 mm, f2.8 and faster ?
2) what lens would you choose as your favourite for these occasion ?
3) do most of these organisers provide reflectors, wind m/c etc ?

For outdoor eg railway track (appears to be a hot favorite
1) what lenses are most suited for these eg 85 - 300 mm, f2.8 and faster, filters,
2) what lens would you choose as your favourite for these occasion ?

Thanks for your guidance.

arphaxad12 > Was surprised that you dug up this thread to ask those questions on organised shoots on CS. :sweatsm:
Over the past 1 year, I did have the chance to attend several of the advertised shoots so here's just my humble opinion.

For group shoots be it indoors or outdoors, one between 50-85mm should work well for most people to capture full body shots as well as closeups.

I use the 85 for at least 80% of my work and other times a 35 or 200 when I wish to have a change in perspective and there is sufficient distance to use them.

Having a lens with aperture of at least 2.8 will help to throw the background off focus and draws the attention of your viewer to your subject in the picture.

The use of which lens is highly subjective and to your creativity. As mentioned in other sections of the forum, there is no particular fixed lens for portraiture usage. What works for others might not be for you. :)

On reflectors/wind machines/lights,
Have a look on which ones that did state in their posts. That will be provided.
For those shoots with large groups of participants, such equipment are not likely to be provided as it is impossible for the organiser to have so many to be given to each group.
