I'm interested to see the distortion, vignetting, CA image correction. Hopefully it covers not just Sony lenses but includes legacy lenses from Minolta. I know Sony is a tad slow on this but the improvements are significant.

Yup. That's what I meant. Its the software correction in the body that corrects the lens distortion, ca and vignetting. Not something new in the market but it's definitely welcomed. I only hope that it covers legacy lenses. Cheers!
Rashkae said:So why discuss this in a section specifically talking about the adapter? This would be a totally different topic.
It led to the topic.
Rashkae said:Not really... The discussion was about the adapter and possible IQ impact (light loss due to SLT) and then you just anyhow posted about a whole bunch of "want to have" features that actually have nothing to do with the adapter - these are general features that could be on any alpha/nex.
Isn't this adaptor rumor ware too?
Rashkae said:This thread is about the adapter. You are posting a wishlist of general software features. No link to the adapter.
oh really.. hmm so should i be happy or sad. anyway.I guess you can still use it.
Rumor is LA-EA2 will only work on NEX-5N and NEX-7.
So it won't work with your current NEX (I assume you don't have 5N/7).
I believe the new adapter dont have a motor in it.. just a mirror right? The only different from LA-EA1 is it enable faster AF. Thats all. However its rumor-ed. So the end product might be different anyway. With the LA-EA1 or 2.. u can use all Sony lens.. the only different is you only can do AF on selected lenses. thats all.Sorry if I m asking a stupid question. From wat I understand, a non-SAM lens still won't work on nex even with de new adaptor rite? Cos NEX body can't "drive" de non-SAM lens' focus ring. If I m rite then de adaptor will be quite useless cos not many SAM lens around. But if I m wrong and de new adaptor will allow ALL SAL lens to be useable on NEX then I say bring it on!!

erm.. thats why there is this E mount 18 200 and the up coming 55 200.. if you think 18 55 isnt good enough for you.Exactly my point. Without a motor in de new adaptor, most lens won't be able to AF anyway, or at least not most of de "everyday/walkabout" lens like 16-105, 16-80, 18-200/250, etc. Only 28-75/f2.8.
How will they (not to mention why would they) "prevent" de adaptor from being use in other (older) NEX models? It's all using e mount and not to mention its sales to them. At most, maybe de 5N & 7 will have de body motor to drive non SAM lenses which older NEXes do not.
kei1309 said:hmm... the screwdrive motor i doubt comes from the body. if there is, most likely will be on the adaptor. why? because you fit the Body > Adaptor > Lens and not A-mount lens to Body straight aways

i believe with the A mount u mention and the new adapter together.. the cost would be the same or little different only.
And by adding a glass..the adapter should already look bigger than the 1st version.. and now add another motor in it? hmm.. not practically.. If want AF. just get those SAM OR SSM.. thats about it.
