thanks man, now got a better idea about these lenses @ ebay ;p

btw, have you seen any resources that mention which lenses can be mounted onto which body? I'm keen to find out if lenses like the Jupiter 8, 3 or 61ld can be mounted on a Bessa R....

Thanks man...very interesting site :D Really gave me a much better idea on the russian lenses..always got confused on ebay man...

These are L39 (Leica Threat Mount).
Compatible but not with Leica Bayonet.

There are still quite abit of Russian lens, if free see can find more info.
You guys can share if you found any good site :)

Errm..so all russian lenses are LTM? Or are there some LSM ones (Leica screw mt)? Really confusing with two types of leica mounts and think they are not interchangeable rite? Any adapters out there for this kinda thing?

Traveller, LTM stands for Leica Thread Mount. Not seen the term LSM before but leica screw mount is in fact LTM. In other words LTM=LSM. I think there are only 3 types of Leica mounts: The M39 screw thread (LTM, for the older RF series) and the M bayonet mount (M-series RF series) and the R bayonet mount (R-series SLRs)

You can buy LTM lenses and use the M bayonet adaptors to use these lenses on the M-series Leicas or compatibles like Bessa R2, Konica Hexar RF, etc.
