Yup there are times the 50mm on a crop camera will seem not wide enough for indoor shots and you'd long for a 35mm or a 28mm. Also, the f1.4 is great but the DOF is so shallow, I end up shooting at f1.8 or f2 so that the whole face is in focus. Just a thought.
But between the two lens you listed, I'd go with the 50mm first IMHO.
