There are so many different versions of AF 80-200...
IMHO, get at least the 2-touch D version with tripod collar:
- The 80-200 is heavy. Without the tripod collar, the centre-of-gavity your camera will be very off on the tripod. And, you will keep on worrying if the weight will stress too much the mount on the your body (although I haven't heard of any report of real damage so far).
- Its filter thread doesn't rotate when zooming or focusing. Good when using GD or PL filters
- It retains monetary value better than the older versions.
