hahah I got another shot of a Nephila sp. but grossly underexposed cos it was too dark and the flash made it look overexposed (darn now i realise why ring flash is impt)
and I forgot how to change the focus point to manual selection so I was like half pressing the shutter sooo many times.

Oh I got a shot of a land snail too but yeah the flash created distracting shadows.. got shots of two other spiders (or rather only spider webs cos the spiders were too small to focus properly).. haha alot of excuses huH?

oooh but was really admiring this particular spider's web. Only lately when I attended some talk on spiders did i know.. the shape of the net is an irregular 3d mesh that is designed to trap/snare prey then it falls on the 'tent' or dome below where the BIG spider is..
then cos the spider is so big. there are 'free-loafers' (little small specks of spiders that feed off the prey while the big one is snacking away.

nahhh, what you need is an ST-E2 and lots of tissue paper (or an omnibounce). ;p

:( am too cheapskate to buy off shoe cord (using 380EX with omnibounce so ST-E2 is out)
trying to work out some DIY solution.
option 1) a ring light from white LEDS runing from battery (pros is its constant light so easier to focus and all
I tried using torchlight to shine before but the results not exactly pleasing..

Slaam, hwchoy is just waiting for an opportunity to further remind us of.......ST-E2

;) ha.....

by the way the "lots of tissue paper" is for improvise softbox, not for your other bushy activities :p
