Oh! I'm quite sure I won't be disappointed... it's just the price that is a sticking issue... I'm hoping for it to hit $2000 before taking the plunge... cos I'm intending to get the vertical grip plus maybe more than one 1GB CF card.... costs quite a bit this way... I'm trying to keep the whole package below $3000....

From what I understand, the difference in speed between the Extreme and Ultra II is not very noticeable unless u max out the memory buffer every time. The Lexar is noticeably slower, some users report. Note that I am just reproducing what I can remember from reading user reports at Dpreview's KM forum.
Its seems tha the Ultra II is about the best value... it's supposed to be faster but it's only $5 more than the Lexar.
Haven't update for a while, only added TME (he made a loud entrance.. so can't miss his name :bsmilie
