400mm a bit short for birds, no?

good already. depend how far away the bird is too you . doesn't necessary you need 500mm to do the job, 300mm or 200mm also can.

Maybe birdpark can, but not in SGB right?

sbg also can la... but Sungei Buloh..... i think need a 500 with TC or 800 and crop for the details:sweatsm:

Looks very sharp but the weight doesn't really suit me
I'll still consider the 70-300G :sweatsm:

400 are really not enough for bird. I remember the lens aperture will be at 5.6 from 200mm onward.. at this weight it quite acceptable for me. But the focusing speed are quite slow for me ( i never use lens that longer than 300mm, not sure if it because of the long end ).

What Aperture will be then?

Use it together with a 1,000,000 candlepower searchlight, should be okay to achieve 1/500s handheld shutter speed (with SSS on).

sorry to break the TC chain, and repeating my earlier posting, do we have information on what the max aperture as focal length changes?
so.. F4 at 70mm
F5.6 starting from..?

I think got to wait for someone to get hold of a copy of the lens and check... any news from dyxum?

Johnston is busy with other stuff so he didn't come in at the moment, perhaps you would like to visit the other side to check with him.
