70-300G anyone know when it'll be in shops?

as you can see the large aperture zooms offered by sony is damn high priced.. example..

CZ 24-70 F2.8 = $2999
70-200 F2.8 G= $3699

So 70-300 G is a good replacement of 75-300 (Priced at $399) yet not too expensive..

remember it's a G!! lens hehe.. cheapest amount all Gs..

not say beercan not good, but ill get 70-300 for it's extra 90mm of focal length!

Around 2.7k or slightly lesser....still better get it in HK around 2.3-2.4k at least the price difference will give you one nice hotel stay in HK. If you also want to buy the 70-200 f2.8 SSM the difference between SG and HK price will offset your ticket price.

I'm assuming you're talking about the 24-70? It's much much less than 2.7k even here in SG.

Well, distortion and sharpness are one factor. The sheer size of the lens is another. And if I wanted 500mm, I'd get the Reflex lens.

The 70-300 is a G-quality replacement for the "standard" 75-300 (which is a relatively weak lens).

Well, the pricing got derailed so a lot of the quotes here are for the CZ 24-70.

For the 70-300G price in HK, check the HK sonystyle store. In the USA, it's 800 USD. SG price is still unknown as it's not on sale here yet.
