Unfortunately, i did not get down the name. but i think is someone call Ken? he said the price of $2960 is already nett (GST included). i replied myself for F2.8 IS Mk 2, he said YES... i think i want make a trip down and reconfirm and also see if i can pay deposit for it...

I own older version of Sigma lens (without OS)
I own before a Canon 70-200 f2.8 L non-IS
Performance wise (and pixel peeping) I found the 2 lens is comparable, the different is I found Canon color is a bit muted, but Sigma warmer (yellowish)
The latest version should be better (in my thinking)

i'm quoted S$750(with GST) for sigma 70-200 f2.8 HSM II brand new local warranty(according to the uncle) at funan 2nd floor shop, joy's but when i ask for the item the uncle refuse to show it to me with lame excuse saying "it's at my other shop at different floor, if u confirm u wanna purchase i will get it for you in 5 minutes" then i ask why don't u get it for me first so i can see and then he told me even more ridiculous reply "u must confirm that u want to get the lens then i'll get it for you, cos if i fetch it up, another customer might come when i leave", so i just left, i dun think i can trust that shop to buy anything, but if u're willing to take the risk it's really really a bargain from other shops that selling the sigma 70-200 f2.8 HSM II for around S$1300, also i manage to compare sigma 70-200 f2.8 HSM II and Canon 70-200 f2.8 L non-IS at john 3:16, i feel the build quality both is very well made but i notice the sigma 70-200 f2.8 HSM II is a bit soft wide open, maybe the copy i'm trying, i dun know, just my experience last week

The 70 - 200 f4 IS outperforms all its siblings in terms of sharpness and overall optical quality if one sets aside differences related to the smaller aperture. However, only with the new 2.8 IS Mk2 it found a worthy match, the latter being a tat "better".
Anyway, the 70-200 f4 IS is undoubtedly one of the best lenses Canon ever created. If you buy it, u won't regret, unless you really do need the 2.8 aperture.

the shop name is joy's i think, it's the one near the overhead bridge exit at funan 2nd floor, u'll get the simlim bad shop aura when u speak with the uncles lol

Hi just a quite question about this 70-200mm lens. I am considering f4 IS vs. non IS.
There is definitely a huge jump in price. From your personal experience do you think it's really worth the difference in $$$?

Personal experience, yes, it was worth it.

I sound like a broken recorder whenever I give this answer-"Rent both and try out."

IS helps you have more keepers. it depends on how much you value your shots i guess but a monopod may work just as well just that it limits your movement.
