Pay attention to this statement:
*If the camera body does not support HSM motor, AF will not work.

The AF doesn't work with Minolta SLR which doesn't support HSM.

Anyone use Tamron for Minolta SLR? Is the AF working?

My ex-tamrons AF works with my sony.

Has anyone try the tamron 70-200 f2.8 on stage performance such as dance performance? Is the Af too slow for this kind of photography?

between these two, i would choose the sigma. i tried both myself at the shop on a nikon body. the tamron auto-focus is too difficult to use.

my tamron is facing intermittent focus stop...
wat could be the problem..
meaning after taking some shots or in the process of taking the af motor just stop...
sort of no link wit the camera...need to off then on again or tweak the push-pull clutch n turn abit then back to norm..
n i think its not suitable for fast-paced shooting as it hunts occasionally..

I guess this is normal. Have you read the DPreview's review on this Tamron in detail? It mentioned the focus is quite bad.
What body you using?

I am using D90 and Sigma AF 70-200mm f/2.8 EX APO HSM DG
Here are the samples of the pics I've took.

Taken at 200mm, maybe those people that said this lens was soft at 200mm referred to the bokeh? :)
You decide

All this a F2.8 wide open?? if yes you got yrself a very rare good copy.. Up still now i played with 3 copies all soft at f2.8 & 200mm..:(

Yup, wide open at f/2.8. I bought this lens at Audio House Liang Court, at that time was last piece for $1300.

Hi I heard that the sigma 70-200 f/2.8 DG OS HSM II is not compatible with Canon 7d. Is it true? Secondly how is it compared to the Canon 70-200mm f/4 non IS? Can you post some pictures taken by the Sigma? Thanks.

hi

dpreview said itis soft at 200mm, and indeed it is especially when view at 100%...

i do notice softness at the sample pics taken by dpreview at 200mm... when view at normal size (i.e. not 100%).

roughly how much should a 80-200 AFD go for? talking about both 1 and 2 touch version.
