70-200 2.8 IS Mk2 - any local shops with stock?

Those who are going to HK would be able to get it at S$3212 (HK$17800) or lower. Price quoted yesterday at Broadway. You could get cheaper quotes at Wing Shing, Tin Cheung or DC Fever I reckon.

but nothing detailed yet so i guess gotta wait for dpreview to do up theirs or for those who managed to get their hands on the first batch to give us their own review.

Anyways I guess the whole singapore or at least the usual shops are out of stock and most of them give the usual next month answer when asked when the next shipment is coming in.

you cant buy one off the shelf. the lens is short in supply even in japan. if you wanted one, you should have pre ordered at cathy photo or any other camera supplies shop. be prepared to wait ages though.

Thanks for the link.

I find the guy presenting it to be rather long-winded and did not showcase at all how the new features are a WOW.

The review would have been useful if this is the first time Canon produced a 70-200mm. But this is Canon's 5th! A much better review would be to compare the new lens with the older f/2.8's and perhaps f/4's and see how the IS and IQ differ.

I'm not so sure if the upgrade is worth its price. Anyway, something new to drool for the lens collectors especially.

if john 3:16 is indeed selling it at 3.3k and reviews on the net are not pulling a fast one then I dun really need to have 2nd thoughts about paying the extra 300-400 for the markII (when there is stock) over the markI.
