But do they keep some Minolta mount lenses?

i got my tamron 18-200 from ms color, i picked up from the show.

the other booth got trade in, but they were selling +$10 more than the price ms gave me and they wanted me to trade in a lens! duh!

If trade in gets you S$150 more and the lens price is S$10 more expensive, you still save up S$140..
Give them the old lens with fungus.. or any not working lens. ;)

my guess is, he mean even after trade in the Tamron price is still $10 more than MS's price. I think the Tamron dealer is quoting him full price (which usually more expensive than street price) - $150.

yeah they wun give me 150$ for my old lens, they meant to give me 150$ off the price of the new lens, which after the discount is just a bit higher than ms' selling price hehehe

or maybe they explained to me wrongly?

ot: why is it that all our it shows are more of a "market" style of show. i mean its all well and good, but most these products are already available in our stores. nothing much in the way of new product unveiling or upcoming new products. well with the exception of the xbox 360 and ds lite of course

Personally, I would wait for either Canon to come up with a 18-200mm IS USM, or at least a TOkina version.. Just my personal preference, no offense to anyone here using the Tamron or Sigma..

sorry, but Canon will never make any lens with minolta mount, even when pigs fly :)

And I bet they won't make it in short time, they don't want to kill their lineup of 17-85IS + 70-300IS.

It's a shame that the 17-85's quality is even comparable with Sigma's 18-200, more expensive, and slower at f/4. Many Canon users envy Nikon 18-200VR. Strangely no one realize that KM has Sigma 18-200AS for US$300!

Oops.. Sorry.. Didn't see the folder :embrass:

Have never tried Tokina lenses. Friends don't have it too. You have used it before? How's the performance? :)

Paiseh.. Tokina don't make KM mount leh.. But between Tamron and Sigma, I will choose Tamron :) UNless of course KM come up with their own 18-200mm.. My preference has always been to go with OM equipment :)

Oh.. Actually they do, I just found out Tokina has 28-80mm f/2.8, 80-200 f/2.8 and some others for KM mount ;) Personally, I find Tokina generally had better build and optical quality compared to Tamron and Sigma.. Just my personal opinion btw..

KM does have 18-200mm lens  , but most suspect that it was made by Tamron.

Well.. I would go for it rather than 3rd party.. Unless of course budget is tight and the particular 3rd party lens is really cheap (50%~60% of OM) or highly rated..
