60D now available in spore

Actually metal body has its advantage. I had a canon G10 last time and accidently dropped it on the ground when i slipped on wet floor. The G10 metal body had a small dent at the bottom corner where the impact was. Had it been a plastic body, it would have cracked open.

I have sold it to my friend and it is still working fine till now.

btw, is the grip bigger than 550D ?? i hope i dont need the extra battery grip for this..

Feels quite similar to my 5D except the weight. So grip form factor is good for those who are used to the xxD and xD.

great.. hope can save $$ on the battery grip :D will try it at Canon Vivo

EOS 7D is selling at $2,170 with gst for cash price -> Where selling at that price?:)

You can get this cash price at TK Photo.

With current PwP for the battery grip and 580EX mk II, you will realise that you are actually paying around $2,000 for a EOS 7D. If you were to buy just during the COMEX period, it was even cheaper due to the free Canon crumpler 6m bag given which you can sell it for at least $139.

*I have no relationship with them, just happened to know the price.

What is the latest price of the EOS 60D?

If it were a plastic body, it won't dent, but there would probably be a scratch. It is unlikely to crack open... and even if it does, just go to CSC to change the outer pastic shell. It's very cheap only. Then you will get a new shell without any scratch/dent. Isn't that much better?

hmm, thank god it's not priced too near to 7D... if not it will really make my 7D purchase not justified!

hey guys!

i seriously need some advice from you guys. i am about to get the canon 60d in the next couple of days but i have some lingering doubts. i'm not sure if its worth paying the extra $800 thereabouts for the canon 7d instead.

i intend to use my camera for events photography, as well as for hobby purposes. also, i'm not sure if i should allow the lack of auto focus micro adjustment in the 60d influence my choice in not getting it. so should i just go ahead with the 60d or fork out the extra cash for the 7d?

i really dont mind the plastic body though!

i have a tamron 17-50mm 2.8 lens which is my primary lens for now.

thanks ALOT guys!

cheers!

go ahead with your decision, buy the 60D... i have been shooting for awhile now and the only lenses i ever need to caliberate are Sigma made ones (in fact only 1)... not sure what's the big fuss over the lack of such feature..

use the extra $$ for a good flash or good lens. :)

thanks alot dude. what you said makes tons of sense. i'd rather use the cash on a flash, which is something else i have to buy and not sure which.. haha.

"Canon's latest digital single lens reflex (DSLR) camera, the EOS 60D, is also its most versatile DSLR, or so Canon claims.

Armed with a 3-inch vari-angle LCD screen, an 18-megapixel APS-C-sized CMOS sensor (1.6x crop factor) and a Digic 4 imaging processor, the 60D features nine cross-type auto focus points with a 63-zone metering system. It can shoot still images at up to 5.3 frames per second (fps).

The camera supports in-camera RAW image processing to give you greater creative licence on the go. Or, you can apply the built-in Creative Filters to your pictures after you shoot them, such as the "Toy Camera" nostalgic effect or the popular "Miniature" tilt-shift lens effect (Corrected on 12:25 PM Sep 20, 2010).

While it lacks the CF card slot of its predecessor 50D, the 60D supports SDXC memory cards that allow up to 2TB of storage. Plus, it can record full high-definition 1920x1080 videos up to 30fps.

The 60D touts a sturdy body that weighs only 755g (with battery), and is reasonably priced at $1,599 (body only).

Canon today also introduced two new compact camera - the prosumer Powershot G12 and the superzoom Powershot SX30 IS. Both cameras will be available at the end of the month, with pricing to be confirmed."

Hi,

Got stock?? If no stock, I can sell it for free.

Anyway, you cannot compare the latest price of 50D which is end of life product to a newly launch 60D. When Canon 50D was first launch, it was much higher that S$1.5K. May be Canon lower the price of 60D to reflect the lower in specification.

Have a nice day.

yeah just like comparing a old bmw 5 series with a newly launched volkswagen passat?

Tested it out at John yesternight. Somehow it felt different from my 40D and the grip seemed shallower... Not getting use to the weigh also. Plus, the dail doesn't feel as good too.

Well maybe it is just me... I would not go for 60D.

how much did it cost at john? anyone know the price for the 60D at AP?

S$14++ I think. I overheard Sam talking to another customer. Anyway, I am not interested in getting one so didn't ask for the price, just play with it for a while.
