spare batt 3rd party, not canon but still 1700mah 7.2V
After experiencing 3rd party and the original batt , my advice is to take the 3rd party specs with a pinch of salt. Though very much cheaper but not long lasting.

Hi, Got mine for $1410/- with 8G card and bag. plus 50 f1.8 II @ $125/-. at different time. Actually, purchase with purchase the lens was $99/-. At Point of sale, I checked shutter count recorded as 0 to ensure it is not a demo set. The shutter count is not the camera's but the count for the use of the battery. A demo set will have count to (say) 12 for using the battery to demo to custoimers.
Hi, Got mine at Funan before the roadshow.
Ok cos i also got mine on tuesday from mscolor but it does comes with the pwp of $60.
In fact, canon does not care where u buy from, as long as the receipt falls within the promo period, you can buy it at harbourfront after registering online.
It's actually a storewide promotion by canon no matter where u buy u still get to buy the $60 prime lens n others stuff from 04 November 2010 to 05 December 2010. Latest redemption date is 08 December 2010. Stated in canon website.
So if u buy frm outside the kit cost onli abt 1.4-1.5k+ still cheaper den they throw u a free $60 prime lens
Just my 2cents
IT Trade Show is good.

bought my 550d at the previous IT show and the tripod is the one with lever locking. the head cannot stand my 550+grip+55-250...The tripod is the Canon black tripod, ball + swivel and 3-tier extendable legs (screw locking?)
That's retailing for about 70-80 and if that's the one, it's a decent beginner's tripod. The ball-head needs some serious tightening to get it tight and, over time may start to get a bit "loose" (as it left-right movement, just a bit).
Try it out until you decide to get a better ballhead or better tripod. It's good enough to hold my 500D + 55-250 for moon shots, if that's any help.
Please ignore if its another tripod![]()
