60/2.8 Macro, 75/1.8, 12-35/2.8, 35-100/2.8. Money no enough. Which one???

Which lens will you pick?

the 75mm's f1.8 aperture will be useful to me :)

75mm cost 899 usd for per order at amazon
12-35mm cost 1299 usd

wow that expensive for m4/3 lenses(that what I think)

now they have great lenses like oly 45mm or lumix 25mm they are cheaper too ^^

I'm REALLY tempted to get the 75/1.8, initial reports look really good...

Definitely more expensive than Oly 12mm f2. Scary ****! No joke!

Is 75 1.8 available?

i voted for all except the 75mm.
Need to wait for real life reviews of these lens first before I can even start to consider and decide.
No purchase unless lens proven to work to my satisfaction! lol

75/1.8 for me.
Currently my setup is silver OMD with 12/2, 14-42 II R, 45/1.8, so 75/1.8 will complete the light weight all-silver line up :bsmilie:
But the best looking combo is still omd with my silver leica 50 lux v2, super retro!

Definitely Panasonic 12-35/2.8. With Panasonic Leica DG Summilux 25mm/f.14, you'll get perfect combo for indoor.

Amazon states 1-3 months' time.

No surprise, Panasonic didn't promise it much earlier, initially they mentioned August for the US.

me want 75mm if the price will go somewhere near the Pl25mm if it is near the 12mm f2 no thanks will just use my MF lenses for now (Canon FL 85 or the Leica Elmarit 135)

Where art thou Vit M?

Would love to have it all but Vit M is not coming in to support the love. I think I will sit and wait..especially the news of more players in the market now. Will be keeping really close tabs on the coming Photokina.

I vote non of them.

60/2.8 Macro, penny already have 45/2.8 with OIS. Kind of duplicated
75/1.8 is the most attractive one among them. But no OIS. It is only good for Olympus body. For penny, let's wait for penny Leica version is similar range.
12-35/2.8 looks good. But 2.8 for m43 not as good as full frame. I am looking for 1.8 or better. At this moment only prime works well.
35-100/2.8, same reason as above.

One more thing, mirror less market is not yet fully stabilised. Both Panasonic and Olympus have financial difficulties. Invest on expensive m43 lens need more consideration than do so to Nikon or Canon.

You mean to say that oly and panny may collapse soon and that would wipe out our investments in their lenses?

if oly and pany collapse, your lens won't auto disintegrate what.

Because I plan to use for hikes and treks and I want to carry as few things as possible, I got the 12-35. Damn small and weather sealed, which is a plus.

I got it for much cheaper from japan, w/o warranty tho. But it's like 1 year anyway, so no issue for me.

The last comment makes no sense honestly...

1. lenses aren't like bodies, doesn't break down as easily

2. If they really fail and the lenses are good, wouldn't they become rare.....with prices going up instead?

3. Panasonic's trouble is with TV, Olympus with their cameras. Panasonic has many other businesses and Olympus has their monopoly on medical optics, so it's unlikely they'll fold anytime soon. Also, Sony recently bought into Olympus, which gave them another bout of life. I'm expecting exciting things from this partnership.

The 12-35mm is my largest lens.. and its a giant compared to some primes..

Yah its quite big but it gives you zoom capability and some wide end. You hv to decide if 2 primes are worth one zoom. Have to also consider the hassle of changing lens.

I also take into consideration the hassle of changing lens hence would prefer to go for zoom instead of primes.. also take into consideration the risk of expose to dust, sweat, saliva(haha) onto the sensor during the switching..
