5DmkII slow AF ?

thxs;)...really find its quite slow compare 40D. Tried 7D recently, fires like a 'machine gun'

Yes, I have the same experience. I rented a 5D Mk2 as an extra body for my trip to Huangshan, and after the trip I returned the 5D Mk2 and never looked back. Ironically, I had more keeper shots with my 40D than 5D Mk2 (I attributed it to my unfamiliarity with the 5D Mk2, but didn't like the handling overall). I tried a fellow photographer's 7D during a studio shoot and compared to my 40D the 7D was really fast.

I'm still using my 40D.

precisely what I encountered . that's why I bot e 40D .

errmm..

when u are wide open..u got thin DOF..when u recompose, u are still half depressing the shutter button..nothing to do with the AF cos u already locked the AF area..
