the prices are so reasonable and competitive now. its very close to Sony A850. WOW. I really hope such FF camera prices stay that way or get lower! But I do find it strange how come the drop in price? its a drastic drop some more. $3.1k is damn good price. congrats to those who bought the 5DII at that price...lol! i'll stick with my 50D. 3.1 is still beyond my reach unfortunately.

i paid $3167 for mine so he's right!
But anyone who buys into electronics should be prepared that what you buy today is worth less immediately after you buy it - unless the item is rare/limited. Whether it be a car, a TV, a PC etc.
Sooner or later the retail price will drop and drop it must at by a certain date. When this date is, well, that's the bummer. If you buy it just when it's on the verge of happening, well... that's life.

Nvm la... at least you feel that it's worth the price at the point of time you bought it.
I just feel pity for those who are planning to let go their 5D2 recently, now they need to sell at much lower price. :dunno:

anyway Canon listed the body selling at $3599.
So i think $3.1k plus is not impossible selling at the shops cos usually its cheaper to buy from them then from Canon directly.
I wonder if i do a 450D trade in to buy direct from Canon.. will i get it at less then $3K?
