Might want to view the exif details on both images @ ISO 12800

the shutter setting from the Canon 5D MKIII is (1/1600)
while the Nikon D800 was at (1/2500)

SO it produce darker exposure on the D800 image sample.

Based on that review, it seems that D3s is still better than D800 in term of High ISO performance.

Needless to say that. Nature of the technology if Nikon can come to 90-95% of a D3S in low light performance it is already a better camera. For it to be better then Nikon may have made of the last few bodies they will ever make if you are not shooting high speed action work.

Obviously, u are still paying substantially more for the D3s compare to the D800.
