5D2 body rrp dropped by $400!

around 1.8k is reasonable for the time being. but some are selling 2.1-2.5k with and w/o warranty. i am looking for ff camera but still unable to decide to get 2nd hand 5dm2, new 5dm2 or 5dm3.

i see BnS most selling 2.1-2.3k, most of them got no warranty and quite alot of the units got shutter count in excess of >20k

if grey set is 2.4, i think grey set would be the better option

also in dilemma about which to get, 5d3 seems like a very substantial improvement over 5d2, but not enough moolah :(

you guys missed the cheaper deals then. it only happened for a brief while, when 5D3 was just launched. people fanatically dumped their 5D2, resulting in sub 2k, around 1.8k for body. but it has been some time since 5d3, it's only natural that the BnS market correct itself a little.

Seriously go for 5dm3... even though is expensive but it can last you longer. And tendency you will go for 5dm3 eventually as you feel inferior when u use 5dm2. in the end you spend more money upgrading and upgrading. one shot make it clear.

5D3 costs twice as much as two used 5D2s. Not exactly spare change.

I will still settle for a 5DMK2 if I can (existing MK2 user too). Will rather to wait longer for MKIV to come out in X years time... think upgrade from MK2 to MK3 really not much point for me. but from MK2 to MKIV that's a big step upgrade and worthy to pay that kind of money.

But for new users to FF and 5D classic, dun wait, just go straight to MK3.

from mk2 to mkIV might be a huge upgrade... but can mk2 last that long for ur thirst of new gadget... hehe..

why not? haha, in fact my thirst for "new" gadget is film cameras now... i dun shoot much digital these days :p

Yeah was debating with myself whether to upgrade from the II to III previously cos even though the AF is a very good upgrade, doesn't affect me much since I shoot manual 95% of the time. The only big difference is the high ISO performance which is really fabulous. Even though I sold my 5D2, I was still doubtful honestly. Anyhow, this headache will come back to me after my house reno. :(

Don't think about it of you have already sold it!

I have a 7D, and 5D2 can be a good complement to it..... mmmm..................

Haha... I MISS MY 5D2!!!!!!! :P

Think positive... you sold your 5D2 early ($2k+?) yet you can buy back the same body cheaper! :bsmilie: In another few months time used 5D2 might be $1.5k thereabout.

Hehe... Comforting myself with that! However also got the BBB virus asking me to buy the 5D3.... Best if can have both, 5D2 for my manual lenses, 5D3 for AF lenses. However pocket not deep enough ah... :P

I just got a 5Dmk2 kit (local set) from Cathay for $3799 w/GST. Best of all, I paid by credit card with 12mths interest free installments!

Oh. And I got a 77mm B+W UV filter for $55. They're having some discount for it.

Just to let you all know, there are only 5 sets left.
