Why do you want to coat the Xenon? The Summarit was a Xenon, but coated. John Van Stelten will coat for you if you want. I have seen his work, but never needed to use his services to coat lenses.

After looking at all the pics from dankwan, gommy, hacker , hookonclassic , zoomP and wongsan from their vintage lens .... Hope I did not miss out any one.

Re-kinder my fire for posting and shooting... Managed to dig out his old one.. Should be summarit or Benny's Canon f1.5 ltm . Was thinking of stopping posting and shooting for a year. Hahaha

Hi thomas, what was your dev time? temp?

20C @ 5.15s

was wondering if the low contrast was due to lens or dev. I think I would like pyro or rodinal with a summarit. Havent tried it yet tho. Have you tried stand dev with this lens?

Bro, this lens is definitely less contrasty by modern standard...but my poor development skill may also play a contributing factor...will try another roll of TX and this time will try develop it longer say 6 mins.

:D

Thomas, no leh, your skills very good, great range of tones, I'm just wondering how to really exploit these old lenses...so going old skool in development as well...stand dev in pyro, recreate how they did it in the old days and to understand why the engineers at that time opted for certain glass formulas.... hey thanks to you, I also got closet "engineer" in me....:bsmilie:

I see. Boochap also like old lenses on film too. I prefer my digital work-flow .

Click on my own presets and do some adjustment. Dam fast and easy.

Now with my non pro flickr account I can only access to 200 of my pics. Dam lazy to find more example.

Summar or Summarit on M8

nice:thumbsup:

Guys, I came across this Leica Leitz Summarit 50mm 1.5 IIIc LTM. Some read IIIc, some IIIf, what does it means?

Anyone have a copy of this together with a Canon Sonnar 50mm f1.5, how do you compare?

Thank U! hehe..
