Well, so far, that's d onli lens i have at the moment. I let go my kit lens to my to my brother as he's buying a new camera. I would say i'm very satisfied with it.. .except for the cropping factor. Guess just have to back up extra few steps to shoot a group photos. Just have to get those people to squeeze tighter into the frame. Overall, I would say its an excellent lens.

hi borrow TS's thread
so taking a 50mm on D90, say for example..
the crop is 1.5xright.. so tts 75mm right..

taking a wide angle lens like 18 / 24 mm.. tts 27 / 36 mm after crop. 36 is not realli wide liao, am i right to say?

Correct. It's like a normal 35mm in the old film days.

But if you really want to have a WIDE angle, you'd be looking at the wider ranges such as 12-24 or 10-20. They would give u a cropped view of 18-36 or 15-30. Do note that the wider you go, the more distortion will affect the picture.

yup understood.
jus wonder cos 24mm is wideangle.. and more budget to me if I'm saving and getting in 1 shot..
cos seems now D90 appeals more.. + 1 portrait + 1 wideangle (may come later)

but after crop.. 24 = 36mm.. scared like not much of the wide effect

It is wide... on FX. (after-all it was created for film in the first place)

I have a few 24mm shots on my flickr. Go take a look, see if it's wide enough for you. ;)

oh ya. some shots certainly looks extreme nice to me.
Yup not really distorted (fisheye). Ok. Noted in advance.

But I guess shall try out with rental of the lens first be4 buying.
Anyway haven got the cam yet.

Sony got a 50mm Macro and 50mm F1.4, which one is more appropriate? But Sony lens is so expensive.... looking for 2nd hand to try out as new to DSLR....

I have to say that it's very worthy to have
