>>It is a clone of Leica Elmar 5cm f3.5 lens, which is a very fine lens. However, the russian clone is famous for the very poor QC issue and hence great variation of quality can be expected. ie. If you were lucky you may get a very sharp example, but there is a high chance to get a dog:bsmilie:

>>No more than $50

Thanks cocoa,you are fast.

Bahibo, I have 2 FED 3.5 collapsible lenses & they are both pretty darn good. One is uncoated, the other one is coated. I can see a difference between color & B/W on the uncoated one, but the coated one seems pretty close. I also have a Jupiter 8 and a Jupiter 3. Both are also pretty good, and if you absolutely need speed, go with the Jupiter 8. The -3 (or at least mine) is a bit soft until I hit f8 or so. The FEDs are great for travel, they make the whole package a lot easier to pack and carry. Too bad the Jupiter 12 isn't collapsible, though!

As Cocoa said, though, don't pay more than $50 US for one!

Good luck & let us know how things work out!
