So many examples given that are not "portrait", still not enough har?
With an addition adaptor? Or how you do it?
Roughly I have to spend how much to convert it to macro usage?
I mean since it is f1.8, so if the shutter speed is too fast then cannt take a good picture.
So what is your recommendation on shutter speed and ISO, if taking under dim condition with f1.8?

I use a reverse lens adaptor bought from mass sales and to increase the magnification, i use a 1.4X teleconverter as well.
you have a lens which has maximum aperture of f1.8, does not mean you can only shoot at f1.8.
suggest you read some books about lenses, you will have better whole picture of what are the difference of lenses and how to use them.

The adaptor ring is quite cheap, around $12 iirc

However, I realize that suggestion asking me to check back the books or what spoonfeeding things...Then what is the meaning to open a new thread to ask question?

if f/1.8 results in too fast a shutter speed, then simply stop down to like f/5.6 or f/8 so that you can reduce the shutter speed, if that is your intention.
Without knowing how bright "dim lighting" is, how to state a particular set of values? I also rely on my camera's light meter, since I don't have one built into my brain.

I think you misunderstood the purpose of the Newbies Forum.
It is not to ask questions in a way that shows you have made no effort to learn on your part.
Same thing in most forums wat... If you go into an iPhone forum, and ask blankly for people to suggest apps for you to download, chances are a number of people will ridicule you.

Yes, this is newbies corner, not a noobs corner. Before ask a question, please do some effort, like read the the Sticky Threads For Newbies, manual, books, and use google to find any information you want.
This lens is a must have lens for every one as it's so bright and cheap. Better get this lens and use it so you'll know what this lens for.
I will try again on the lens but I dont know either it can down to f/5.6 or f/8 or not...

Yes. However, normally I use P mode...
I think it is a silly question, but I wish to ask. Is there any Manual that teach how to use fully utilize the lens?
