raise your hands for those who are selling your old 1.4 and buying this new one!
do you think IQ will be significantly different?:dunno:

I am interested in the truth of "Natural blur effects thanks to nine-blade rounded diaphragm" from http://www.nikon.com.sg/productitem.php?pid=1289-fb874890a3 :)

Bokeh is dependent on the coma correction group. The circular shape of the aperture opening will only help to ensure that the out of focus points of light remains round at apertures other than fully open. However, it says nothing of whether these out of focus points have a soft edge or hard edge.

i think the only reason i'll get this will be the AFS.
i'm so used to AFS lenses that i wish ALL my nikkor lenses comes with it.
it's such an anticlimax when you fit on and focus with a non afs and you hear the lens focus.:embrass:

this lens will hit the shores in dec.

i'm considering this lens although it won't be much different from the afd version i'm using, mainly cos it's af-s (faster & more silent focusing?) and the 9-blade diaphragm. also i won't have the focusing ring rotating under my fingers. that doesn't mean i will sell the afd version though...will keep it for my f3.

On a DX camera, that 50 mm will become a 75mm, more like a telephoto than a normal lens.

If I were the owner of a DX camera, I would have hoped for a 30mm AFS prime lens. Perhaps that is why the 3rd Party lens makers can still survive (eg. the Sigma 30mm), because Nikon (as per Thom Hogan) tends to develop lenses which their loyal followers want and desire at a "glacial" pace.

Hi, I am using D60, so I am a DX user right? Sorry huh, I'm very new in this.

So if I want to shoot portrait, it's better to get a 30mm rather than a 50mm? Coz 30mm will be more like 50mm and 50mm more like 75mm? What does it really means?

I wanted to get the AF 50mm lens but scare by the time I MF, the subject sianz liao  so was thinking of the AFS or Sigma's HSM lens. Now question is which length (is it call length?) should I get? Also, if I want to shoot my boys, which are very active, is this a good lens? Or any suggestions?

Thanks.
