if u  the f/1.8, you'll get the f/1.4 later for sure! :bsmilie:

that is a myth. not much diff between the 1.8 and the 1.4 but the 1.4 is reachable for most people. I do find the 1.4 a very good walkabout lens and a portrait lens.

maybe.... i just skipped the f/1.8 and got the f/1.4! Din look back ever since liao! :bsmilie:

if you got it straight away, then no point looking back.

hehehe, which I didn't!
wun disagree with you regarding the slight differences b/w the 1.4 and 1.8, but if given an option, I'll and others would just have jumped in to get the 1.4. Keep a lookout in the B&S sub forum, once in a while, there are good deals for the 1.4! ;)

around 350 for a 50/1.4 that is pretty good already.

I still prefer a 1.2 if necessary... any good prices for it? Though it's MF, but I would love the wide open.

Considering that Canon just came out with a L USM version of the 50mm f/1.2 (priced at US$1,600  ), I'm wondering if Nikon will follow with an AF-S G version :bsmilie: If they did, I'm pretty sure it'd twist a few people's underware in a knot. :bsmilie:
