I dont think the 7d is replacing the xxd. Not thinking of getting 2nd hand as i think it will last my bro a few years before he'll upgrade. I think the only way to get it is through those electronic stores like Courts, HN or wait for next IT show which is next month bt would be more expensive.

If it's cheap, like 300-400, then can get it as a 3rd body for many purposes. Coz my main body is expensive, 2nd body is bulky so a 3rd cheap and smaller body will serve the purpose when I want to travel light and also for shooting in "dangerous" areas like the beach. I do shoot while half of my body submerged in the sea water, one accidental trip is all it takes.

I hear you. I regret selling my 20D after I got my 5D. It would have been my 3rd body, and serve the exact same purpose you described. :mad2:

It is about time considering the 50D is 2 years old. I am just guessing...the 60D will probably be yet another face lifted xxd...which means just a 50d with the newer 18mp sensor and video. Maybe a newer and more accurate metering system. Don't think canon will put 7D features into the 60D, coz that will kill 7D.

they may juz throw a 21mp sensor. remember that they din give a dam the 550D would own the 50D so no surprise if they upgrade to 21 and slowly upgrade the 7D and 550D

Not entirely. The 50D has better AF, FPS, build quality, Viewfinder, RAW buffer, ergonomics, Microadjustment etc. features than the 550D. So the 550D didn’t exactly own or surpass the 50D. More like different target groups.
Even if the 60D has a ‘better’ Sensor, it still won’t equal the 7D in SOME respects. Canon may be slow on the uptake in many ways, but they aren’t THAT dumb.

The 50D was near the end of its life cycle when the 550D was released. Canon was not going to let the existence of 50D hold it back from putting 18MP into 550D. The 7D, however, is still relatively new, and I doubt Canon will let 60D surpass 7D in pixel count.
Besides, 21MP in a APS-C sensor? Many felt the 15MP sensor of 50D is already too cramped. :sweat:

I guess canon would let the 60D kill the 7D than when everyone gets the 60D, they release the 7D M2 and everyone will go #%^@^#!^@#^! :bsmilie:
