Back to topic. Either camp, you cannot go wrong. Weight which has lenses which are more valuable/important to you. And of course the "feeling" of the camera. Cheers

do you know some people may think that is a video cam instead?
is very obvious that he is a fan of canon (just look at his nick), so much that he even post in nikon section to promote canon products.

I can assure you that this post was accidental and preventable. As you can see this was the only post posted in Nikon subforum so "promoting canon's product" is uncalled for. And i've already apologized to boot.
About my nick, i admit i was in a fix when deciding which nick to used, so i used an obvious one.Should you say that to users too who put Nikon part or fully in their nicks?

But he was quite neutral in the post in question where he got labelled "Canon fanboy". Let's be fair. There is nothing wrong in either system. I post in Canon subforum too. I don't see anything wrong with comparing features, pros and cons of competing products. We do that all the time. :dunno:

Yeah, being 0.2 fps slower absolutely kills the deal.

a point of note. 50D or D300 is a question many people are asking. in many aspects they are similar.
Do consider lenses as well, you can get great iso performance from a Nikon, but you cant use any L primes. you can use L primes with a Canon, but you sacrifice the great wide angles that nikon makes.
buy a brand that FITS your style of shooting. NOT based on what people are saying.
i shoot landscape and low light on a cropped camera.
i go for a canon due to the 10-22. and i dont need high ISOs, i use Fast primes for my low light. Nikon (iirc) does not have an auto 35/1.4, while the 35L is an excellent lense
i hope you know what you want to shoot, because deciding which to buy based on camera performance alone isnt too good an idea.

Mrhobbit, I am looking at the nikon and canon system too and is particularly interested in the wide angle lenses.
You mentioned that nikon has great wide angles but you went for canon 10-22.

Nikon has the excellent 14-24 2.8 which is unmatched by any Canon wide-angle. prob is, it costs a bomb!

Since it is quite ridiculous to make a decision basing on the comments here, having strong feeling on either camp, the best way is to go to the shop, take a look at the 2 cameras and decide there and then. Since both are equally good, you will surely not be disappointed whichever you choose. The important thing is you must like it. Go forth and BUY
