Hi guys,
Looking forward to purchase my 1st DSLR. Got some questions on Canon 500D.
Is the noise level performance better than Canon 450D?

i guess in terms of the hardware, 500D has digic4 wheras 450D has digic3. this would definitely be an improvement. however have yet to come across any pictures that directly compare this..

Does it have multiple exposure mode? In other words, can I super impose 2 images into one single frame? Does 450D have this function too?

Really excited! Yesterday (sunday) i purchased a canon 500d with the standard 18mm-55mm of E-bay for £515 british pounds! bargin. I also spent £300 for a second hand Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM Lens. As you may guess im looking to do some macro work. I havent had a camera since my canon 1000fn SLR was nicked about 7 years ago. So im new to digital and sure im going to be needing a whole lot of help. Found you guys tonight and hoping that lens+camera will be here in a day or two. Im thinking of getting a light tent/table top studio as i keep a load of creepy crawlies from stickinsects to spiders etc and want to get some great close ups. One question i would have is that i would like to add a flash unit. Would i be better going for a ring flash or a lens mounted double flash? I know some of these can be expensive ...and ive just spent most of my limit. ive been looking about but would like your imput. Also what do you think about this cheap double?

sorry to burst ur bubble but £515 = SGD1184 is hardly a steal... n u would still have to add 7% GST for shipment above SGD400 (unless the seller marked it as gift, meaning there'll be no insurance in case of any damage during shipping) so with 7% GST = SGD1288. n i don't suppose u have factored shipping cost? or n plus the fact that there's no Canon warranty for the body.

from ClupSnap price guide 500D +18-55mm goes for abt SGD1250-1300 in the stores.

oh yah... shouldn't assume he is in S'pore... ok but then from ebay, so unless it's a full canon warranty set, still not worth it cos

add another $100 or less can get brand new from authorised retail store n immediately in ur hand liao

Another forum that likes to jump down peoples necks! I'll try not to swear. I am in the uk. The 500d comes with lens and a warranty and overnight delivered to my door all for £514.99. Everywhere else in uk it's over £600 and some up to £800 I think I can say I got a good price. Think I might have to look for a friendlier place to hang out. :0(

Its ok mate.... im sorry too. just some forums im been on are quick to judge...no harm done. anyway ive got a 500d !!!!! thats the main thing! too late to play around with it tonight - got home from work late. never mind tomorrows another day and ill soon be clicking away!

500d or d5000 i picked the canon all the reviews pitching the two against each other shows the canon on top. one choice is the screen, the canon has a fixed screen with amazing quality where as the nikon has a swivel screen but low quality. There is a number of other differences of course but this is something to think about depending on your shoot style. when taking pictures nikon picks a slightly darker image than the canon at the same settings. im sure there will be others on here that can get more technical but if your really going to choose between these two go Canon.

or for 500D users to come psot questions abt the camera - a more meanigful purpose

am posting this cos i find the name list pretty irritating n pointless

LOL nw u got the point tats y i seldom come into this thread. Its the same as '500D Gathering & Outing Thread' its just name and location of peep staying in which part etc without the actual org of gathering and outing. Except for 1 or 2 haha.

I presume you meant 55-250mm. It is being sold at S$380 as some popular camera outlets eg MS Color and John 3:16. So, not a good deal at HN.
