seafone's 50-200mm photos have good degree of sharpness, like the color too.... plus the size and weight, i think it is a winner.....;)

you guys are make me feel like getting it...

*curbs the urge*

anyone getting a K10D soon? maybe can tom-pang and get the 55-200mm.. slightly cheaper rite?

but yet again.. sigma has 1:2 macro from 200-300 end..
grrrrrrrrrrr

now u r itchy.......:bsmilie:

snowywolf,
interested in getting my Pentax 50-200? Its in mint condition. I am selling it because once you have 'tasted' the Pentax f300 f4.5, no other tele zoom satisfy you anymore. Not a bad lens or anything, but can't be compared (obviously!)

I'm with you.;)

I hope the upcoming lenses, whether * or not, would be better. The DA lenses are supposed to be better for digital SLR but so far the F and FA lenses seem to be out performing them. e.g. FA100 f2.8 macro vs DFA100 f2.8, or the FA limited vs DA limited.

I don't quite agreed with the limited example.:D The FA limited & DA limited each have their own characteristic.

I think they're supposed to be "more suitable" for digital.

ok maybe bad example.
I think about the DA lenses is the vignetting problem that they suffer from. Because the F/FA is full frame, we get only the best part of the image (centre). That is why in reviews the F/FA fare better in this area. Wonder why they dont make the DA with just a little bigger front element. e.g. the DA18-55 suffers from vignetting at 18mm because of the small front element (quoted by photozone).

hemm...playing with words I see! :bsmilie:
Regret not stocking up on FA lenses....28 f2.8 (sold it off), 50 f1.4, FA24-90 f3.5-4.5 (i like to buy new)
Lucky for me, i have the f300 f4.5, phew!

too bad i've spent some bucks on a 2X macro teleconverter.. *sighz* not cheap after including the shipping cost..

now i need to recuperate for a couple of months.. will u still hang on to it then?

I dont think so. I want to get other lens (DFA100 f2.8). Anyway after I bought the 50-200. I realised I have no use for it. My photo target is either near (< 5M away) or very far. So for last 15 years or so, it has been a 28-85/105 and a 300. I find that I dont miss 200 at all. Also because I like to shoot close, 100 macro is a must too.

I'm refering to the same Panagor as Jens site. I don't know if yours is the same. You can refer here for more info from Jens.

I bought this panagor macro converter from Jim Traders, the same guy who sold the vivitar Macro 105mm f2.5, and I paid 49US excluding shipping. This macro converter is for macro photography, and not as teleconverter, and it does not doube the focal length. Mounting a Tamron 90mm with Panagor converter will gives you more than one magnification.

I got the same info from Jr.. macro photography.
