4G CF card

Anyone got new CF card recently? Can you share where to buy and whats the price. Seems that most shops ran out of stock.

I got a 4GB Sandisk Ultra II for $95 @ AP-SimLim, 2GB was $55. The other SL shops were selling about $118. Hope I got a good price.

Transcend 4GB 120x(or 133x) $92 @ AP-SL

Kingston 4GB 133x ultimate @ ~$75 @ SL.

Kingston is cheaper but I believe the write speed a bit slower compared to Sandisk, even though its rated as high speed. Bet the Sandisk Ultra II (66x) beats the Kingston (133x).

2GB (FAT 16) will read/write faster than 4GB (FAT 32) in general, also depends on the chips the company uses.

4Gb around $90 i think.

i change ultra II to elite pro for cost and speed...elite pro write faster to my cam than ultra...

i just do the simple timing test by snap and see how fast the file will complete the write to my cam (13.46MB each) and on average i got this 2.2+s and 3.3+s from elitepro n ultra respectively...the timing will be very close if transfer pix from card reader to PC for both cards...well i maybe wrong on this a/c...

Hey guys

Read these with a pinch of salt. These are all forums and comments.
Ultimately, the buying power is with yourself.
I have not done a comparison test to verify these statements.
The 66X / 120X / abcX whatever usually refers to the read speed. Their write speeds are all different. Tech docs are an indicator but not all encompassing.
To me, if the 350D writes at most 5MB/s, then a 7MB/s spec should be sufficient.
My recommendation would be to get 2 pcs of 2GB, and get a 120GB Digimate III ($169)
Brand / Price / Quality would be up to your budget.
Its like buying a Sony or Akira TV, choice is yours. :think:
