450D, when will the release date be?

should i get it here or japan? going japan on the 28th march, afraid singapore won't have stock by then.

jp cheapest i seen is 86000++ with the kit lens.

thats about SGD1211. it's a really good price. i bought my 400D from japan when it was released. just go ahead and buy it. try going to MAP Camera. go google for the address. bring ur passport along when u go to MAP camera to get cheaper tax free price. IIRC its near the shinjuku station. MAP is, in my experiecne, cheaper than BIC camera or yodobashi.

but take note, canon cams bought in japan have NO WARRANTY. caveat emptor

hey you have asked this question so many times. we cannot make the decision for you. the most we can do is tell you the price and where to go, and that overseas sets have no warranty in singapore. if you buy a 450d in japan and the sensor breaks down....then caveat emptor - don't blame us for anything if you need to pay $700 to replace the sensor.

ultimately, it's your money, you decide how you want to spend it. if you really can't decide, then do the safe thing and get a singapore set where its covered by 15 mths warranty.

I agree with Isaiahfortythirtyone.... it is all up to you, yourself.

You save about $200 SGD if buy in Japan..... but if you need to service your camera within 12mth due to whatever issue.... then goodluck to you.

Then the question you should ask yourself is....... are you willing to take that risk for $200.

If you can't wait just get it. Your savings of $200 should be able to cover minor repair charges if it should break down. $120 for service another $80 for replacement of parts. What's more after repairs you usually get a 3mth warranty period from CSC.

In the meantime you'd be able to shoot what you want with your camera instead of sitting around waiting for it to launch in SG.

Oh but that's just my two cents don't find me if anything goes wrong

i had an underexposure problem which was fixed by canon for free and this even though i got a Kiss Digital X (400D) from MAP camera in tokyo. but this is by no means a representation that canon will gratuitously fix all faults for free. i took the risk of buying in japan and very nearly had to pay about a $100 for it if not for canon's reasonable stance on servicing overseas sets

hihg ISO looks worse than 400D. look at the boxer shot...IMG_0191.jpg. ISO1600 looks as tho there is more chroma noise there resulting in colour blotches

My personal opinion is not to get leading edge product w/o warranty. The bugs may not have been worked out yet and the local agent support may give priorities to local sets.

i doubt it. it should be early april. Amazon ships on 15 April. Singapore shd be around there as well.

don't bother getting from HN or Best. too darned expensive. go to shops like John 3:16 if you're new to the DSLR world

HN, Courts, Best all have to sell at the manufacturer's RRP. other shops don't. so for eg, if a 42inch HD LCD tv costs $2999 at all these megastores, you'll prob get it at around $2500 at a neighbourhood shop. same goes for cameras.

noticed that they were not shot by phil askey?

i dun see the purpose of shooting the summon ticket, may be the reviewer forgot to put coupon during his shoot and now he want to claim it back from company :bsmilie:
