Lumix is pretty secretive in their "about to launch" products.
I nearly bought a LX-2 in June IT show in 2008
and Boomz!! Aug/Sept 2008, LX3 came along...

Maybe EP-3 will come with faster autofocus and built in flash ?

They need to stem the popularity of the GF-1. The latest Japan sales figures show GF-1 growing at 3 times that of EP1/2
Oh it's not critical for the CNY period just nice to have so I'm quite happy to wait if the E-P3 does provide some features that appeal to me.

Please do not be fooled by one mans word. The Mr. M43 is just putting bubbles and text into his website, with every new iteration comes another speculation for the next, and so on, and so forth. Although his posts do hold some credibility, this one is just plan tinker thoughts. Filter and gather.

It is more likely to hear rumours about a new sensor before any new product comes into fruition, considering that this is the second edition of the essentially same body. I would next (if Oly is any good) to come up with new technology as well as a new and improved body rather than just an addition plug and a firmware upgrade. With regards to sensor, panasonic has only developed a new sensor but that's nowhere near the M43 size. In all likelihood that was built for video camera technology.

My speculation is Panasonic to roll out a professional standard GH1 (even if it just means a firmware upgrade like 24Mbps AVCHD) by the years end and Olympus to break out a new Four-Thirds. Of course then there's Fuji's rumoured M43 Klasse, if that shoots Manual Video 720p I'm selling the E-P2 on good faith of it's dynamic range alone.

EDIT:

I'm curious to know though, if there were any rumours or news about Fuji ever developing a M43 or similar sized sensor. Which (by pure assumption) hasn't surfaced yet. On that count I reckon it would be a long time before they churn out a product. I'm expecting a very highly priced CCD camera.

I doubt seriously there will be an EP-3. It will likely be an E-P3. ;)

What did I say when the E-P2 was announced, that it would be until E-P14 before Olympus got a complete micro Four-Thirds camera out the door? :bsmilie:

If Adorama have zero E-3 bodies in stock, that would signal:

1) They're not going to carry Olympus bodies any longer
or
2) The E-3 has gone EOL and hopefully, will be replaced with a body at a similar level

Hopefully, Olympus is just taking care of things without an announcement and the body will be available the same day it is announced.

No, it will be an EP-3. They feel a need to upgrade the eyecup :bsmilie:

Hopefully fixing the slow auto focusing is their priority and also improving range of lenses. Some like me are not so much bothered by the lack of flash; I hardly if ever use my GRD's flash.

I think they tried too hard to market the EP-1 as a fashion statement to appeal to female consumers and may have alienated some.

give up what?

i give up!:(

Don't! It's really an enjoyment of m4/3 photography!
Whatever coming next is only a matter of time.
Once u found what u need, go for it.
Be determine and u'll never feel any regret. :)

somehow i have a feeling that the possible e-p3 won't be a significant upgrade and there won't be a built in flash...
