40D or 400D

depends on the overall budget I guess. 400D is more than capable enough for most purposes. 40D is the next step up. I'm using the lighter and slightly more compact 400D more often than my older 20D now, despite the 400D being less inferior in some ways (lower ISO, lower burst rate).

Main consideration for me when choosing a body is its grip, ease of use of its functions and its noise control. 30D definitely outweighs 300D/350D/400D in most aspects above...

I will go for a good body as well as a lens as well. =).. to me, weight is just secondary consideration. Hi-5 to you for choosing a good body.

a new learner here.... had been learning with my friend's 350D and with a little budget, I'm getting my own now....

I'm not very hardcore into photography and considering the budget, whoopy $900 different in price, should I even consider 40D or get over with 400D instead?

:o

Hi again,

Going thru the thread, there are many helpful souls out there trying to give you valuable opinions.... but i guess you should give more of your limitations/expectations... so that you'll be clear with what you want, therefore, others will be able to give opinion based on your (clearer) needs.

Some other useful infos....
Your size. will smaller slr be a problem for you hand hold...
Which type of photography interest?
What's your budget?
Etc, etc....

The more info, the clearer the help.....

For example, do you like macros? cos you have help telling you the importance of live view in aiding macro photography....

Cheers
