3rd Party lens vs Original lens

People say that third party lens are not as good as original lens. Why don't we end this debate by comparing third party lens images to original manufaturers' lens. To make it less subjective we should decide on types of pictures that will not be subjected to bias.

its depends on how you gona compare them??

28-80mm f4.5-5.6 (third party) against 28-70 f2.8 G (orginal)?? joking right?? egg and stone??

All lenses taken "good "pics, some just need to stop down a bit.. colors wise, thats where the diff comes in...

You're right. We shouldn't compare high end lense of the manufacturer to releatively low end lens of third party. Comparison should be done on lens of similars specifications. Than compare the pictures and than make the conclusion.
 

Unless u can have lenses of identical focal/aperture range, then the comparison will be meaningful... there are lots of such comparisons in dpreview and dyxum.
