One "good" thing about third-parties batteries is that it offers higher capacity. But it dies "easily"... Curious can the MB-80 accept AAs Batteries?

Hi

IMHO, I personally feel it is safer to use original batteries vs 3rd party for the extra capacity due to, as some have mentioned, to the warranty & safety issues.

I bought the Multi-power Battery Pack MB-D80 and yes it does come with an adaptor to hold 6 AA batteries.

My 2.14 cents (Inc GST) worth.

Cheers

I have used 3rd party EN-EL3 batteries for the D70 before and they lasted just as long as the orig and had no problems. Dont understand what the concern about OEM is about.

Now also using 3rd party EN-EL3e battery for D90 and do not have a problem. Have heard though that some older versions do not work on D90 but no problem with mine.

Also using an 3rd party MB-D80. From what I can see, it is an exact replica of the orig and works and feel just as well. Only problem is that the vertical grip does not always read both batteries - L-side battery is on but R-side usually fails to register (sometimes it does).
Not a big problem though I just switch the R side to L side when I need.
