There might be some error with the 35'Cron at f/2.0. Tests from the 'bokeh-test' proved it to be sharp.
The Komura's softness was consistent.

This wraps the little test up!

Pixel peeping is tiring, but pretty fun nonetheless.
I guess we all want to know how much of an increment we are getting for paying that extra thousand bucks.

At the end of the day, as most would say - just shoot and worry less!

Cheers everyone. :)

Very interesting test, thanks a lot for the effort. I am surprised by the lousy center sharpness of the Summicron ....???

Haha, I'm pretty sure Phil had the pic of the cron's center sharpness duplicated from the komura's :bsmilie: On a serious note, i'm really mad about this and will definitely feedback to Leica about the AF malfunctioning on my 9... meanwhile, any optometrist in the house? :p

Really sorry guys I think there really was a mis-focus for the Cron.

I was scratching my head too and I triple-checked all the files before posting, those really came from the Cron!

CJ:
I'd hold you to that for the next round of 35mm lens. ;)
I'm trying to get hold of at least 5 more before doing a part II.

I have a copy of the Zeiss 35/2 if you need for comparison.
