3-4k?give parents, buy car, pao niuh, uni loan(if applicable), transport cost, meals,

i dare say only 5-10% of singaporeans can attain that.

however, note the meaning of dream in this 'dream car' context.

dream car is a car which you can only DREAM OF owning.
it's different from your targetted car, which you can save up to buy.

so if his dream car is just a vios, then, i reckon he needs to aim higher in life.

i cant help but feel in modern singapore nowadays, gals seem to earn more than guys generally?
is it due to the fact that we enter workforce earlier becos guys have to go through ns?:dunno:

I think if you at it on a fix salary basis, I would say yes in Singapore, woman do have the jump on men in the workforce, due to the fact they are in the work force earlier at least 4 - 5 years earlier and already working up the pay scale.

I think the extra years of working experiences is the main differentiators... The higher initial starting salary cannot compare with the extra years of working experience.... hence female from the same cohort will normally fare better than the males...

Well said, but i guess achievers satisfy themselves with an internalised contentment in pursuing their high riding dreams.

of course overobsession or too much of something is toxic, and comparison is unfair. but passive contentment in singapore sounds fatal to me..

we all start with small dreams...and we can never get enough.

first a vios, next a lexus, then a BMW, then a ferrari
first a compact, next a prosumer, next entry dslr, next pro dslr, next lecia, etc etc.

there are so much wants in life...can we ever be satisifed. the millionaire always thinks how he could become the billionaire. we need to be contented or we will never have egh.

i drive a vios, will i upgrade it? ya probably to another vios or fuel efficient car. i dun need a nice car. just need 1 that dun break down and must be fuel efficient.

i do dream of living in landed property then i can keep big dogs as pets. right now...hdb dont allow me to keep my favourite dogs.:thumbsd:

seriously most sg ppl are assest rich. my mum has a half a million dollar home(thanks to HDB). her liquid less than 50k. she works for 40 years with pay of 1k per month at most and sometimes unpaid(house-wife). i say she's rich. go china = 2.5million rmb!
