30D for only S$1800?????

Hey all,

Just had a friend come back from Shanghai with a 30D for which he paid only $1800 (body only) went to John 3:16 and had a chat with samuel about it. Was told that these units are also available in Singapore, but Canon SG will not cover it under the terms of the warrenty.

Apparently they are being sold for around $1750-$1900 in Singapore!

Can anyone verify this??? Is there a difference between the ones we see in mainstream shops and the ones from china?

erm, for ur info, you can get 30d at arnd $1850 and 350d at $1050 without warranty, but not in spore.

get it from HK with 1 yr local HK warranty or 6 mths international warranty...it costs abt $1,800-$1,900.

If for singapore case, i have no idea where to get it at that price..never heard of it before.
The best for 30D body is $2100 & 350D body at $1360, both with warranty..

I beg to differ, somehow someone bought the 350D for 1K with kit lens, unbelievable but true. But he forgot where he bought it from ........with or without warranty I am not sure. I didnt probe further

Since when does Canon (and Nikon) sell their digital cameras with international warranty? As fas as I know Canon and Nikon only sell their digital cameras and digital lenses with local warranty only.......

i checked with the sales personnel of a couple of bigger electronic stores e.g. digital fortress, broadway. they mentioned that u just need to bring the warranty card and invoice down to canon/nikon to convert to international warranty (but only 6 months).

Umm it was a personal lobang i had in the US... last set sorry :sweat: and 1.1k is an expensive toy to play with.

Oracle sells new ones pretty cheap too IIRC.

aiyoh, you all better dont post your cheap cheap purchased price (due to personal or preferred treatment)which are not obtainable later. Some owners who just paid full retail $1500 plus for their 350D might get heart attack after being misled by all your posts.. hahaha

Now price crashing mah...plus mine is grey so there is no warranty so its like buying it second hand. I think about 1.3 -1.4k cna get new with 1 year waranty with that free 1gb cf card? Roumerd 330D replacement in september too (18 month product cycle)
