You mean the previous versions had better AI Servo? So which version is the best guys? :think:

AI Servo never worked in all versions of the hack. The latest version of hack allows you to select AI Servo, it actually activates AI Servo, but you cannot take pictures, nothing happens when you press the shutter

basically, the most important features of the firmware hack are

FEC on board
Force OneShot AF mode
Custom Function 8 (set the embedded JPG in raw photos to the smallest size, so you can squeeze in more raw files per cf card)
Mirror Lockup

tot this is working but u need to let go ur finger and press the button (pretty fast)to take the photo.

yeah,but doubleclicking shutter button is damm silly and cause camera shake

yes, but if u have get used to it and i assume u are shooting at high speed (tats y u need AI servo to track the subject), then the hand shaking will not be significant.

Anyway, another alternative is to use sport mode or it is time to get a better camera!!!

yeah, there are ways to get around the AI servo like to let go ur finger and press the button again, or to trick the camera in AF AI mode to run in AI servo mode. Well, it's better than nothing at this moment.

Did you guy read at Dpreviews forum, MLU was discuss and there was picture for it. Was hoping there is hack for the metering mode.

Why so fast close the poll? I'm coming leh...a bit too late though.

Just got a 300D as a backup cam for my 10D. Applied the russian hack, and hey, it worked just like a 10D without any problems. Just that the buttons a bit different that's all. Other that that, it's a mini 10D.

Go for it guys if you're still hesitating. It's got a real focus lock, FEC, mirror lockup, just to name a few.

And those who think of letting go the 300D and get the 350D. Think twice. If it's Digic II you're going after, then I've got no comment. Other than that, I'd advise to stick to your 300D and apply the russian hack!
