BTW they already did preliminary sieving of the 900 entries and took out about 250. (another point)

Geez. That's 1250 photos gone straightaway. That's a lot of paper to recycle. The Greenies would be very pleased with us.

haha.. its quite an eye opening experience watching the judging.
anyway, only 200+ sets of entries were judged today.
Heard that they selected the top 200+ out of 800+ entries to enter this judging round.

I see...interesting to see that. Most of the participants didn't even see this round if that were the case.

Popularity is part of the territory when you win. Like the Idol competitions, people automatically want to get married with the top few participants. :bsmilie: Anyway, lame joke aside. Hope to see more people shed light on the judging, the pictures that 'worked', and those that didn't.

with black borders..
then the environmental activists would <3 us heaps..

i really wish to have my own work in my house too..but didnt want to go that extra mile and cost..so if competition forced that expense might as well have some value for it that see my pics recycled and come back to me as toilet paper..haha

wonder when they shed light on the judging base on the winning entries, only much depth of study is given to those pics, while like the first 900+ managed merely a few glance after all the printing and effort to join this competition afterall.

yes but $5k is a good carrot. especially to young photographers, so much more especially.
