I use Singtel and from what I see from my wife's M1 phone... Yes, M1 is slow, but at least it moves... And there is no need to keep turning airplane mode on and off to get "reconnected" to the 3G network.i am using singtel. new sim, new phone. same old slow or non existent 3g. the network so unstable, but what i hear from other camps is the same thing. so either telco u move too it's gonna be the same ol problem.

Is this a result of network congestion?
for me, Telkomsel... if I don't restrict my network provider, I sometimes wake up and get messages welcoming me to Indonesia... :bsmilie:I laughed when I saw this.the real question is, will i get what i pay for?
right now they give me 12GB, but speeds are crawling and signal strength is weak and sometimes none.
in punggol the Maxis signal is stronger than singtel
Yes!!!! I always have to wait until I get back to Punggol Interchange before the signal switches back to Singtel despite turning airplane mode on and off nonstop all the way there. :bsmilie:

But if so, isnt it anti-competitive?...
Plausible without intensive video streaming.
The move is most probably to curb customers utilising HSDPA / HSPA+ and the upcoming LTE as a mobile wireless hotspot for their home network where they can easily hit the 12 GB limit.
yeah, but if they did not come together to plan this, they cannot be said to be doing something illegal... like the case with Apple's ebook business: the various publishers that are still holding out against a US investigation of possible collusion to fix prices (believe the EU are also looking into it) are claiming that they came to agreements with Apple separately...In other countries, these telecommunications operators will be promptly investigated for engaging in suspected cartel activities which has happened before to a number of subsidiaries IIRC.
The authority IDA has finally spoken out.
Telcos’ tiered data plan pricing fair: IDA - Yahoo! News Singapore
Apparently, IDA agrees to the new tiered pricing plans. Singapore consumers do not have strong bargaining power.
Their equipment is not able to handle the high number of data plan users in the first place. It is not about whether the bandwidth is enough or not enough. They cannot handle concurrent data access. Just need to go Orchard Road and Tiong Bahru Plaza you will know.
