24-85/f2.8-4.0 vs Sigma 24-70/f2.8 HSM for D700

well..true..for the price i won't complain. till i can justify 24-70 Nikkor. :)

I'm also planning to get either Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 or Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8. Huge price difference.

Can someone kindly post more pictures taken with e Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8?

Thanks!

For Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8, comparing the BIM version n non-BIM version, which one is better?

Thanks!

they are exactly the same except for the BIM, but many reviews and feedbacks indicates that the BIM autofocus much slower in low light.

Slightly slower. But then again it is relative to the user. Old man like me will feel it is fast enough. ;) an it is still way faster than the AF lenses from the old film days. ;)

I'm using D700, it is true that I should get the non-BIM version? because the AF motor in the D700 is faster right? Will I be able to autofocus much faster in normal light or even low light?

Thanks!

i'm using a non-BIM on my D700 and i've no complain. PM me if you want to try on my copy before deciding, thats the only way to be sure if you can accept the AF speed.

If you can find a non-BIM version, I will say go for it. But they don't come by too much... maybe once or twice I see it sold on BnS and usually the asking price is crazy.

I am using the BIM version, and I have no complaints either.
