I wished they would go all the way and have a Gladiator World Cup... any form of tackle and body contact is allowed... if you don't train hard enough to toughen up, if your legs get broken, then too bad... that would be more fitting to FIFA now. If FIFA has any sense of worth, they should award Ghana the goal and ban Uruguay from the next World Cup.

Due Torsten Frings suspension made Germany lost to Italy in final world cup 2006.
This time, suspension of the fast striker Thomas Muller made Germany lost to Spain in 2010.

As in 2014 the World Cup would be held in Brazil, it's unlikely the Germans could survive there.

I hate to see players after scoring a goal run towards the press to have his solo photo taken and shaking off his team mates who congratulate him - kiasu to share a moment of glory with his team mates. Puyol does not do that.

Spain needed to score 2 for insurance.
This is a mistake Spain cannot afford to make.

I didn't watch football in 1974.

But I have watched football in 1990, in the era when Germany won their 3rd Word Cup.
And that's the best German I saw. All of their key players were from Inter Milan :devil:

Very true. Was watching and saw this as well. If I am the coach, I will be giving him a long hard scolding to this idiot and would make sure he understand an important factor about football, TEAMWORK!

pedro was the livewire that caused the most problems for germany. he's a bit inexperienced on the international stage, so can be excused his "foolish/selfish exuberance". he should be wiser now, and still deserves to be in the starting lineup. spain would still have the luxury of using torres as a super sub. vicente del bosque is a wily old fox who knows how best to pick his team, and he knows that spain have been more dangerous with pedro replacing torres in attack.
