i feel that pp is one very important step in photography..
although i have to admit that before i got my camera and in the first few months after i bought it, i am against PP... i think it is cheating...
when i attend the meet the artist session for Zhang Jingna, she was questioned by a lady whether she do PP, and of course we all know Jingna is a PP expert... i guess i know why the lady ask...
anyway i feel that a picture does not represent what we see at all.... for example a uwa... so ultimately all pics are cheating..
anyway tks alot .. i hope to see more of your pp power and the before and after pics!

I guess everyone has their own definition of cheating. For me, I try not to introduce stuff that's not already there in the image as much as I can. Very very rarely will u see me adding flares or objects that wasn't already in an image. So we all have got to find our own sweet spot. My personal feel is not to think too much about whether it's cheating or not, but to tell the story in the best way that we can and with whatever lens or whatever editing tools we have at our disposal. It's probably more enjoyable that way

i would say if one is not under the obligation or stress of delivering results to clients or rather he is a hobby photographer and in no hurry to impress himself, then it will be beneficial to refrain oneself from using PP. Without using PP, he/she who still persist in shooting will eventually be able to truly master most of the fundamentals of photography. From there, your styles comes in base on your creativity of putting the fundamentals into good uses.
That being said, a picture that don't hinder/breaks the law, is not consider cheating.

Very true. Fundamentals are very important! which is precisely why I penned the article recently on Post Processing because I see a trend of new photographers skipping a step or 2 in their basics and using photoshop to cover up alot of flaws technically. That said, I do not see why one should refrain from PP, even if he/she is a beginner. Both technical & PP skills should always go hand in hand.

enjoy your wide angle shots, as always! great eye for composition you have. i can imagine when you shoot, you already pre-visualize the image in your head and when you take a shot - its like you get that special satisfaction you get when your dejavu gets captured 
and i really agree with your post on PP .. it's about taking our art to the next level, whether it means to save a bad shot or to create a stunning one.

Was fortunate enough to document a wedding @ CHIJMES before they stop holding events. This is the 2nd last wedding ever to be held there methinks.

Thanks Fudoushin. glad you like images. But contrary to what you think, i rarely go into any shoots (unless it is a themed photoshoot) with any pre-visualization. I like to go with the flow and see what the environment and subjects can bring me. To be able to react well to the fast changing environment is what gives me the satisfaction
