i noe the guy doin the silat in the first photo. my fren! haha..this reply may seem a lil late but better late than nvr..i agree and i think it is ok for blown out sky as on AD, u do not have the time to meter sky, use flash etc..i cover malay weddings myself and do get many shots like this as well and one has to keep in mind that different events, different cultures call for different environment to shoot in.

im a loyal follower of ur work and the latest of ur works have been nothing short of excellent. drawing inspiration for ideas myself keep it up bro!

My advice is to concentrate on bringing out the details and increasing contrast sections by sections, instead of doing wholesale adjustment to the entire image. This will take a much longer time to produce the shot, but the end product should be more satisfying

Thank you.
Warm tone can be achieved thru adjustment to WB.
The darkness is added via selective adjustment to the shadow regions and at the end, lower the saturation to give it the slightly desat look.
