I think the cheaper souvenirs are at $35 for a Ferrari Mug, and $205 for Ferrari shoes. Caps are going at $55/65, and shirts/jackets of all sorts of design are between $75 and $165. Prices is taken from my photo when I pixel-peeped into it to see the price tags....:bsmilie:Super tempting...:bsmilie: but I'll pass... I sure would like to get my hands on those Ferrari souvenirs. Got a map? hehe... Expensive or not har?

Got a walk-about ticket for F1 racing, so went down to take a look. For those going, I have the following tips based on on-site experiencing:
1) Bring a one wide/normal lens for walkabout shoots and one zoom lens (>200mm preferred) for track shoot. Telephotos may allow you to "bypass" the fencing by blurring/defocus out the fence grids due to telephoto.
2) Choose a good turn to shoot vehicles. It's crazy to pan those F1 vehicles. Don't try too hard or feel sad if you just don't get it..Some people have gone there and given up on shooting cars...
3) I recommend Turn #11, 13, 19. Turn 19 allows pretty near shots due to proximity to track.
4) For day shoot, using Shutter Priority to freeze the vehicles. If you are panning, do the usual panning set up - try 1/80 or 1/100s for panning and adjust from there.
5) For night shoot (f1 races), I have used ISO1600, Shutter of 1/800 is desired, then can take turnings. If less than 1/400, you can only take the time when they are turning (i.e. not moving left or right). If your ISO3200 and above is clean, by all means use them. If you are brave, try panning at night!! haha.
6) Use a tripod (all legs closed) or monopod (preferred) for holding up your camera. Saw many use them. I didn't bring my tripod and my palm is sore from all that holding and carrying!! Be considerate, don't use up the space with your tripod legs. Use monopod-style to give more people space to shoot cos very limited angles to shoot from...
7) You must pre-focus on something on the track or nearby about the same distance from your planned shooting spot on the track. Then switch to manual focus and lock that focus. Use that locked focus for shooting.
8) Bring a ear-plug and wear it during the F1 racing. The sound is deafening especially F1 vehicles. I got ringing in my ears even after leaving the place... haha...
9) If you are hungry, you can eat at Marina Square food court at Gate 7. Got quite a bit of makan places there also. Make sure you get the copy on your arm.... It glows under UV light. They claim it is not easy to wash it off.. keke..
In case you are wondering, I employed my good old trusty Nikon D60 with Nikon 18-200mm traveller lens for all my shots and my trusty two hands... kekeke...
Have a good time. Remember to walk around the rest of the fringe activities and just enjoy the walk.. Anyway, here are some of my contribution for your studying when you go there

Come to think about it, actually, where will the 2009 F1 racing circuit be? Same place? Hopefully the track lights in 2009 will be even more powerful and we can shoot even cleaner images, or we can get even more 'powerful' cams with silky smooth images at ISO12800.. hahaha.....Wow, the 101 tips for the F1. I will save this when I go for it next year.
I think they may want to tweak the track a little, there has been a few complaints on the bumpyness and the 'too many turns' problems, and yes, also the 'not-enough-overtaking opportunity" problem. haha2009 should still be the same... you cannot anyhow su-kar su-kar change the track lay out mah... cannot be nxt yr they come the track different one... :bsmilie: :bsmilie: unless it is for a safety reason.
Do you mean the fencing that the walkabout folks keeps encountering when "loitering" around? or ??why does it look like walkabout folks are treated marginally better than refugees?

It's an expensive sport. Click the link below...more precisely... it seems that walkabouts are given something just barely better than sitting on bare concrete/pavement for paying the amount they did. which seems wrong to me.
